The Meisner Technique
The method of training at the School is based on the internationally
renowned technique developed by Sanford Meisner in his classes at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, recognized as one of the leading acting schools in the world.
Meisner Technique is a dynamic and totally practical approach to acting. It is based on Stanislavski's final discovery:
The Method of Physical Actions and is designed to develop the actor's instrument in a definite series of steps. The result is a set of acting tools that will work now and for an entire career. Beginning with the very first exercise, the famous "repetition game", the actor develops the ability to react and adjust to another actor, simply, honestly and spontaneously by learning to free and trust his instincts and impulses. This is the foundation of solid "ensemble acting". The actor learns how to pursue an objective, create a specific relationship and form a detailed "character" starting from the actor's own instincts and emotions. The ultimate aim of the training is to create acting that is clear, emotionally full and, above all, believable.
